May the Sun bring you new energy by day
May the Moon softly restore you by night. May the rain wash away your worries May the breeze blow new strength into you being May you walk gently through the world and know it’s beauty All the days of you love Apache Blessing So much wisdom coming from our Native American Brothers and Sisters .. the teachings are mammoth and their sensibility is awesome. They have always treated mother earth with respect and walk in gratitude for the 4-leggeds that feed us when needed. I believe the world would be a better place when we honor our native brothers and sisters who roamed this land before ‘we’ came here with out ‘modern ways’ So consider waking to this Apache Blessing and honoring those who have gone before us and will come to bless our paths. This was sent to me by one of my dear teaches, Dorothy Lee Donahue (dorothyleedonahue.com) who recently shared the above statement from Rev. Gloria Cooper-Moran. The point is simple.. be grateful now for all you have. Remind yourself of all the things you are grateful for daily and as the day progresses be thankful for all you experience. There are miracles in everything, even the seemingly most stressful events. When we stop and remember to be grateful, the stress melts away and you feel lighter, brighter and happier. Gratitude represents to me the great balance, the great attitude, the great joy of Being. Oh, and I AM grateful for each of you. For reading this blog, for being in my life, for affording yourself of my life coaching and allowing me to be of service to you… reminding YOU who you are! Karen Lee Cohen #BePeace Ah LIFE.. the big questions…
What are we here for? What are we meant to do? and the real big one Who AM I? The answers dwell within. Nothing on the outside can define us. And only we know that the balance comes from within. Yep, it sounds a bit woo woo and perhaps it is, but I fully believe that ALL the answers are inside of US… we ‘come in’ (are born) knowing. Most of us over the age of 30 are somewhat veiled from that knowing and we spend much of our lifetime peeling away the layers of those veils like an onion.. going inside. And there is a belief system that I subscribe to, that The Millennials and Children are born without the veils and without karma. So no matter what decade you were born, when you are contemplating why you are here, or who you are, remember to go Inside and unfold the veils that might have made you forget. And it’s okay to use team members (like Life Coaches, like ME ) to help you receive these answers, whatever age group you represent. To me, a big part of the learning is to BE PEACE WITHIN… and that PEACE inside of us, will ‘rule the planet,’ as the famous song (AQUARIUS) suggests. Go inside and see what you discover. Create and enjoy a Peace Filled LIFE! Karen Lee Cohen I have been wearing this button (above) for over 20 years and it always elicits remarks like ‘nice idea’ or ‘yes we should’. And as most of you know now my Instagram and Facebook signatures are “Be Peace”.
The term BE PEACE is something I learned first from Lenedra Carroll, most famous for being Jewel’s mom but she is so much more than that. I had the privilege of working for her, and Jewel, back in 2002/3. At the time Lenedra had just released her book “The Architecture of All Abundance”. In the book, and in person, Lenedra’s philosophy is that when each of us as individuals are Peace, we shall bring Peace to Earth. The path to Being Peace is something I embraced fully and to this day it is my belief that each of us individually are responsible for Being Peace. This simply is my philosophy, thanks for leading me here Lenedra. Everyday in Every way we can establish Peace in Ourselves. How, you may ask. By our daily practices of love, gratitude and appreciation for what we DO have, who we ARE and How we are Being. That smile we share with a stranger, that appreciation of the songbird on our balcony, the sound of the ocean outside our kitchen window… and the amazing people who we have come to know. Being Peace brings me joy and is something I strive for each day. The Department of Peace is an idea whose time has come and Marianne Williamson has, and is, elevating the idea and even making it a movement during her run for the Presidency. Check out her efforts and if you agree we need a Department of Peace… contact her and sign her petition. Karen Lee Cohen The picture above is from the after party in the Rockefeller Center restaurant adjacent to the famous Rock Center Skating Ring where most of the 8 Christmas In Rockefeller Center shows I Executive produced, were staged. Peter Allen (above) hosted twice, the 2nd time with Betty Buckley. Other hosts during that time included Lily Tomlin, Hal Linden, Leslie Uggums, Ben Vereen and Merlin Olsen. In the 1980’s the show still aired live on tape in Prime Time Access on WNBC-TV. It was in cooperation with the Rockefeller Organization who ‘controlled’ many of the elements especially the lighting of the tree. They also had approval over talent although except for insisting on an Opera star each year, they left most of it to us. It was always a great time with the excitement of doing Live Television...that amazing tree ...and the hundreds of New Yorkers watching from the street. Chris Salvador (pictured with Peter Allen and me above) produced 5 of the 8 when I was there and Steve Grymes (pictured below) was the primary Director…Harry McNeill did one too. Mark Guttman was Operation’s Manager for most of them. We had a terrific production... stage and engineering team too and I am grateful to each of them. Fond Memories. |
